This weekend the Tetons got hit with another early-season snowstorm. Starting Friday, a Winter Weather Advisory was issued for the majority of the western Rocky Mountains. Predictions of snowfall by the likes of Snowbrains and Powderchasers had us daydreaming about midseason powder-filled frenzies. By the time the snow settled this morning, 16″ of white blanketed the summit of Rendezvous Mountain. For the first time since last winter, the snow level reached the valley and naturally, a few eager skiers took to the hills surrounding Jackson for their first turns of the season.

Although there might be enough snow in the high country for you to start thinking about waxing your new setup, here at JHMR we still need a few more early-season storms before we start spinning lifts. As of today, we are only 38 days until the start of the season and with this latest burst of snow the jitters to make turns are creeping in.

The base of Sublett looking pretty good for mid-October.
