4/22/20 – JHMR hopes to operate by mid-summer, but will open in accordance with guidelines of State Health Orders and the National Parks re-opening.  The Bridger Gondola and Teewinot Bike Park will open along with various retail and restaurants.  The Aerial Tram will not run for the summer 2020 season due to scheduled maintenance.  All summer operations are subject to change.

3/24/20 – Reminder – Uphill travel is prohibited. . As part of JHMR’s special use permit with Bridger Teton National Forest, when the ski area is closed for public operation, access is prohibited due to hazard and safety considerations, including all uphill traffic. 3/16/20- Effectively immediately, JHMR will close for the remainder of the winter season in response to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic. As of today, March 15, 2020, all JHMR mountain operations, including lifts, retail, rental, and restaurants will be closed. Our decision to close the resort follows a Health Order directed by the Wyoming State Health Officer and issued by the Teton District Health Officer.  JHMR has taken these measures out of concern for the health and safety of our guests, employees, and community.

For JHMR employees, JHMR will offer two additional weeks of scheduled pay to all impacted seasonal employees and will determine additional assistance for our employees through this hardship.

“JHMR regrets the short notice of this closure and the impact it has had on all guests, employees, and community. This has been a quickly evolving situation, and JHMR has worked directly with health officials, local and state government to continuously monitor circumstances to inform decisions,” stated Mary Kate Buckley, JHMR President.  She went on to note, “we are working earnestly to assist our guests and staff impacted by JHMR’s closure.”

March 13, 2020 @5pm: The spread of COVID-19 is a rapidly evolving situation. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) is monitoring the situation closely and working with the Teton County Health Department by following the guidelines from the Center of Disease Control (CDC) to ensure the health and safety of all guests and staff. JHMR appreciates your patience and support as some changes to operations are implemented for the remainder of the season.

MORE COVID-19 FAQS

Let’s all prevent the spread of germs. Here’s how:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with germs.
  • Avoid close contact with sick people.
  • Limit contact with others, and try to preserve defensible space when possible among strangers and in public settings.
  • PLEASE stay home if you are sick.
  • Cover your nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing. Cough into your elbow, not your ski gloves.
  • If you are part of the vulnerable population for this disease, please consider not riding the enclosed lifts at the resort.

Event Cancelations:

In conjunction with Teton County and the Town of Jackson Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR), has canceled all large public events for the remainder of the season as a precautionary measure.  Specifically, these cancelations include Jackson Hole Rendezvous Spring Festival March 26-28, 2020 and all Music Under the Tram series. Although it’s disappointing  to cancel the annual free music we all love, this was the right decision to make.

This weekend, March 14-16, 2020 Jackson Hole Food & Wine’s Taste of Teton VIllage event for Winter Fest, JH Ski Club Town Downhill, and Music Under the Tram have all been canceled. Saturday’s Rossignol Ride Free will still take place, albeit on a smaller scale  with demos and live music in RPK 3.

Operational Changes & Guest Service Information

JHMR is taking significant steps to help reduce the potential spread of COVID-19 by specifically focusing on social distancing measures impacting the Resort’s standard operations.
Here are a few actions JHMR is implementing immediately:

  • Closure of the Aerial Tram as of March 14, 2020.
  • Loading limited passenger on the Bridger and Sweetwater Gondolas.  Note, if you are part of the vulnerable population for this disease, JHMR asks skiers and riders to avoid riding our enclosed lifts.
  • Improved social distancing in all facilities and lift lines through increased crowd management.
  • Preventative operational measures to food and beverage outlets  with procedures including closure of two self-serve buffets at Rendezvous Lodge and Solitude Station.
  • Enhanced cleaning of all restaurants, common spaces and public facilities including enclosed lifts, restrooms, and buses.
  • Heightened handwashing and sick guidelines for all employees and front-line personnel.

March 13, 2020 – Limited Numbers on Aerial Tram, Bridger and Sweetwater Gondolas

As of today, JHMR will be limiting the numbers on the Aerial Tram, Bridger Gondola and Sweetwater Gondola in order to preserve defensible space for employees and guests and reduce the potential spread of the COVID-19 virus.  The health and safety of our guests and staff is the number one priority, and JHMR appreciates your patience and support during this situation.

March 12, 2020 – Rendezvous Festival Canceled

The health and well-being of our community, guests and staff is of the utmost importance to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR). JHMR is taking a proactive approach regarding COVID-19.  JHMR is monitoring the situation closely and working with the Teton County Health Department by following the guidelines from the Center of Disease Control (CDC).

Per the directive from Town and County officials to reduce the possible spread of COVID-19 through large-scale public gatherings, JHMR will be canceling the Rendezvous Spring Festival for March 26-28, 2020.  All spring music events are canceled for the remainder of the season.

The mountain is open through April 12, 2020 as planned with a heightened focus on safety and hygiene for our employees and guests. There is currently one confirmed case of COVID-19 in Sheridan County, Wyoming, and the entire Jackson Hole community is working together to take proactive measures to reduce the potential spread of the virus.
