The 55th season at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort kicks off in two days! The same as in years past, we’re pairing opening day with Thanksgiving. Our favorite time of year is about to begin; winter is finally upon us.
This season will certainly be different and it will take a combined effort of you, our guest, and the JHMR staff to ensure a safe and healthy season. President Mary Kate Buckley welcomes guests noting, “we have worked hard since closing last winter to prepare for this season’s opening – not only have we invested to expand our trails, extend our snowmaking and make other improvements, we’ve also modified virtually every aspect of our mountain, food and beverage, retail and rental operations to comply with COVID health protocols. We ask our guests to observe our health and safety protocols in order to help us to achieve our goal to open safely and stay open all season long.”
Starting at 8:30am sharp we are letting the first skiers of the season load chair 1 on Teewinot, Sweetwater Gondola to the top, and Après Vous. The Solitude covered surface lift will also open for the season at 9 a.m.. Stay tuned to our social feeds and jacksonhole.com for additional lifts and terrain openings throughout the weekend as snow and weather conditions allow. Full day and afternoon lift tickets are currently sold out for Thursday and Friday, Nov. 26 and 27. As of today, limited quantities of day tickets and afternoon tickets for Saturday and Sunday are still available.
All guests will be required to wear face coverings over both nose and mouth at all times while riding all lifts, when loading, and when standing in lift lines as well as inside facilities. Guests are recommended to wear a dry face covering when possible for the best protection. The standard guidance is non-woven fabric with two or more layers is preferred. A surgical mask is three layers and an N95 respirator with an exhalation valve is not an adequate face covering. Scarves or bandannas are also not considered adequate protection while skiing and riding. These face covering guidelines are to protect yourself and other guests. We will have surgical masks for guests to use, but it is encouraged for all guests to come prepared with proper face coverings, water, and a plan for the day.
