Located at the Sweetwater Gondola mid-station, Solitude Station is a short two-minute ride from the base. This full-service lodge, boasting 12,000 square feet of space, includes Mountain Sports School, rental and dining facilities. New for 2024 is Trapper's, an upscale table service restaurant.
About Solitude Station
Solitude Station is the mid-station hub of the Sweetwater Gondola. The Mountain Sports School Adult, Snowboard, and Explorer (children 8 and over) group lessons all start the day here. Additionally, Solitude Station offers elevated dining at Trapper's and hosts the Solitude Station Access pass facilities.
Who Is It For?
Solitude Station provides upscale dining, and storage facilities through the Solitude Station Access Pass program, and enhanced Mountain Sports School experiences.
- Trapper's Restaurant, new for 2024, can be reserved through Open Table and is open for lunch service.
- Mountain Sports School lessons for children 8 years and older and adult lessons for all ability levels.
- The Solitude Station Access Pass offers overnight storage, daily continental breakfast, and early access on Sweetwater - space is limited and reservations are required.
How do I get there?
Where: Located just over 180 vertical feet above the base area, Solitude Station is accessed via the Sweetwater Gondola. Exit at the mid-station, which is just a two-minute ride from the base.
Do I need a lift ticket to access Solitude Station? You do not need a ticket to drop your child off at the Solitude Station. If you wish to continue to ski or board from there, you may purchase your lift access at the Station. There will be a designated Solitude Station access line at the base of the Sweetwater Gondola for those participating in Mountain Sports School programs. Mountain Sports School guests and families can be ticketed upon check-in at Solitude Station.
Drop-Off

What if I am going to watch my child's lesson? As long as you are wearing street shoes, you do not need a lift ticket to access Solitude Station.
What if I have different-aged children in programs at both Kids Ranch and Solitude Station? Where do I start? We can accommodate check-in for children of all ages in the Kids Ranch at the Cody House so you are welcome to start there.
Dining
Trapper's is new for the 2024-25 winter season, offering an elevated dining room with the coziness of a mountain chalet. This upscale eatery showcases classic regional flavors with a modern twist, blending warmth and elegance to create the ideal mid-mountain escape. Guests can look forward to enjoying a thoughtfully crafted menu featuring locally sourced ingredients and an extensive selection of beverages, all within a welcoming, social atmosphere. Reservations are strongly suggested through Open Table.
Do I have to be in a lesson to use the building? Trapper's is open to all JHMR guests, seating is limited, and reservations are recommended. The Mountain Sports School facilities are limited to guests enrolled in lessons.

Private lessons will meet at the Private Lesson Meeting Place at the base, unless otherwise arranged with your instructor.

Private lessons will meet at the Private Lesson Meeting Place at the base area, unless otherwise arranged with your instructor.
