Why Terrain Based Learning?
Terrain Based Learning is the gateway to an unforgettable winter experience. Immerse yourself in this adventure playground that blends practicality with fun, making it perfect for all ages. Rather than learning and improving on flat, beginner slopes, you will step into a dynamic and hands-on learning environment that mirrors the terrain you will encounter across the mountain.
Picture this as trading the classroom for a field trip, spending less time listening and more time actively engaging. By practicing in a setting that reflects real-world conditions, you’ll build confidence, refine your technique, and fast-track your progress. Whether you're a first-timer or looking to sharpen your skills, Terrain Based Learning transforms the experience into an exciting and interactive journey.
Overview
Instructors can create a more engaging and intuitive learning environment by incorporating elements like rollers, banked turns, and obstacles. Terrain Based Learning helps students develop skills more organically and aims to make skiing and snowboarding more accessible and enjoyable. This innovative approach will allow beginners to adapt more quickly and naturally to different conditions and challenges on the mountain. Terrain Based Learning is completed through the use of five different modules:
1. The Flats: develop athletic stance & balance.
2. The Mini Pipe: Build balance while sliding.
3. The Rollers: Finding confidence while moving downhill.
4. The Banked Turns: Start to steer your gear.
5. The Perfect Slope: Now you're in control, find your flow!
