Breezy Johnson with Jackson Hole facemask

Jackson Hole's own Breezy Johnson has taken the international ski racing scene by storm this winter, and now, she's coming home. On Saturday, April 12, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort will host a special "Meet & Ski with Breezy Johnson" event, offering fans a unique opportunity to celebrate her achievements and share the slopes with a hometown hero. Ski with Breezy from 12-1 PM at Teton Lift, followed by her poster signing session at Tram Dock from 2-3 PM.

A Season to Remember

Breezy's 2024–2025 season has been nothing short of spectacular. At the Alpine World Ski Championships in Saalbach, Austria, she clinched the gold medal in the women's downhill, becoming the first American woman to do so since Lindsey Vonn in 2009. Her time of 1:41.29 set an unbeatable pace, solidifying her status among the sport's elite. (Reuters)

But she didn’t stop there. Teaming up with longtime friend and teammate Mikaela Shiffrin, Breezy secured another gold in the inaugural women’s team combined event just days later. This victory not only showcased her versatility but also highlighted the strength of American skiing on the world stage. (WyoFile)

Reflecting on her journey, Breezy expressed gratitude for the support she’s received: “There are so many people who have helped me,” she said in an emotional interview after her downhill victory. (WyoFile)

Hometown Roots

Growing up in Jackson Hole, Breezy’s passion for skiing was nurtured by the rugged terrain and a supportive community. She fondly recalls her early days: “We used to take the bus from school to the town hill to ski three days of the week. Then we skied at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort on the weekends, ripping around like Tasmanian devils.” (NBC Olympics)

It’s that same mountain-town spirit that continues to guide her. “Jackson is also an incredible outdoor place. We have two major National Parks and tons of National Forest and Wilderness. I grew up hiking and exploring this outdoor space, and that has carried into my love for adventure and the outdoors as an adult.” (NBC Olympics)
