Road Trip to Jackson Hole

Ahhhh, the open road. Windows rolled down, tunes turned up, breathtaking views, and close friends to keep the vibes high as you drive through some of the most beautiful parts of America.

Some of my fondest memories are of road trips through The Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks with family and friends. In addition to stunning landscapes and wildlife sightings, they provide the perfect opportunity to learn more about your loved ones, expand your music taste, eat at local hole-in-the-wall restaurants, and truly experience the area. With the scenery you'll encounter and the memories you'll make on your drive to Jackson Hole, you'll realize that the extra time spent on travel is really just extra time to kick back and relax on vacation.

Picture this: the sun is shining, a refreshing breeze circulates through the open windows, and you catch up with your best friend as they play their new favorite album, which quickly becomes your favorite too. You stop for the night to explore a town you've never been to. You think it can't get better, but the drive only improves as you get closer to your destination. Your car winds through curvy mountain roads where breathtaking vistas never cease to amaze you around each bend. Wildflowers spring from the earth, bald eagles fly overhead, and wildlife such as bears, moose, bison, and elk roam within view. You feel as if you've been transported into a nature documentary and you notice you've been smiling for miles. And then you reach your destination and meet the mountain that keeps you engaged with endless levels of adventure around every bend, and realize the fun has only just begun.

Bozeman to Jackson Hole

Driving from Bozeman to Jackson Hole is a scenic 4-hour adventure through some of the most iconic landscapes in the region. The route takes you through Yellowstone National Park, where geysers, hot springs, and abundant wildlife await. I made a point to stop at Old Faithful and the Grand Prismatic Spring—two sights that shouldn’t be missed. The drive also offers stunning views of the Gallatin and Teton mountain ranges, making every mile of the journey worthwhile.

Salt Lake City to Jackson Hole

The drive from Salt Lake City to Jackson Hole is about 4 hours and 30 minutes. Leaving the city, you find yourself quickly surrounded by rolling hills and vast open spaces. Highlights of this route include Bear Lake, often called the "Caribbean of the Rockies" for its turquoise waters, and Logan Canyon, a stunning stretch of road winding through rugged cliffs and lush forests.

Denver to Jackson Hole

The journey from Denver to Jackson Hole is a longer road trip, spanning approximately 8 hours, but it’s filled with incredible sights. Driving through Colorado and Wyoming, you will pass through wide-open plains, dramatic mountain ranges, and quaint small towns. A notable stop along the way was Saratoga, Wyoming, known for its natural hot springs—a perfect place to stretch and relax.

While the destination was unforgettable, I came to appreciate that the journey was just as meaningful. Road trips aren’t just about getting somewhere—they’re about embracing the adventure along the way. For me, this trip wasn’t just a vacation to Jackson Hole—it was a journey that created memories I’ll treasure forever.

• Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is a 4 hour and 30 minute drive from Jackson.
• Idaho Falls Regional Airport (IDA) is a 1 hour and 45 minute drive from Jackson.
• Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN) is a 4 hour drive from Jackson.
• Book a private chartered flight with Teton Aviation through the Driggs-Reed Memorial Airport (KDIJ) which is a 45 minute drive from Jackson.
• Starting May 5, catch a flight to Yellowstone Airport (WYS), which is a 2 hour and 30 minute drive from Jackson.
