The athletes have spoken and the results for the Kings & Queens of Corbet’s 2020 are here. Last night a sold-out Pink Garter Theater played host to the awards party presented by Sweet Protection. After the athletes and audience filled their cups with the limited edition K&Q Pale Ale from Roadhouse Brewery they gathered upstairs for the official announcements. A quick intro by the MC’s and events director, Jess McMillian, lead to a stoked filled GoPro highlight video to amp up the crowd (GoPro highlight vid will be live later this week).
Huge cheers and applause filled the theater as the anticipation grew for the results. Once the video was wrapped it was time to name the top 3 men and women. In third place Sam Kuch and Caite Zeliff took the podium. Second place was Hans Mindnich for the men and Arianna Tricomi for the women. Parkin Costain and Veronica Paulson took home first place and the title of King and Queen of Corbet’s.
Chants of “Speech! Speech! Speech!” rang out for the newly crowned King and Queen. After little convincing, they gave the people what they wanted and pumped up the crowd one more time before celebrating with their close friends and competitors. With the awards concluded, SoDown kept the party going on stage until late in the night.
JHMR is pleased to announce that all the winning athletes male and female received equal cash compensation. Prize money breakdown as follows: $10,000 for first place, $5,000 for second place and $3,000 for third place. A huge thank you to our sponsors Sweet Protections, Red Bull, GoPro, Yeti, Smartwool, Gore-tex and The Continuum Hotel.
