The JH Insider App just keeps getting better. This winter's update brought 2 exciting new features:
1. Achievements & Medals
Maybe you're looking for some motivation to get out and ski/snowboard more, or maybe you want to be the first of your friends to reach various milestones. Either way, this new feature will help keep you out on the slopes and reward you for your accomplishments. Unveiled this past summer with hiking and downhill mountain biking achievements, the winter version is now here with something everyone on the mountain can set their sights on. Whether you're trying to become the Diamond Daredevil by skiing 100 black diamond runs or just starting out and aiming for the Bunny Rustler achievement by skiing 5 green runs in a day, you're bound to have a fun time as you make progress towards these achievements and medals.
Reading on your phone? Click below to view the new achievements page.
Learn how to use this new feature via the screenshots below.
Click "MAP" from the bottom menu to access the map. Click the "START TRACKING" button to begin your tracking session and automatically start working towards achievements. Remember to end your tracking session once you are done skiing/snowboarding for the day.
After completing your activity and ending your tracking session, click "MY STATS" from the bottom menu to access your stats for the day and season. Click the "SEE ALL ACHIEVEMENTS" button to view the achievements you can earn.
View your progress towards reaching each achievement on the right side of the screen. Scroll down to view a list of all achievements and medals you can receive. Some achievements have a checklist that you can click to see which item(s) you're still missing before the achievement is complete.
Those that still need to be completed will say "Not Completed" under the item. Those that are completed will list the date it was completed on along with a checkmark.
When applicable, the checklist will have the option to "SEE MAP" to view where that run/lift is on the trail map.
You will then be taken to the map where the run/lift will be prominently labeled so you can easily locate where you need to go to finish the achievement.
On the homepage of the app, click the status icon for whichever is most applicable between Opens Lifts, Open Trails and Groomed Trails.
Click the name of the trail or lift once you've located it on the list. To find the desired trail quicker, you can sort by status, difficulty or name and toggle between trails and lifts at the top.
You will then be taken to the map where the run/lift will be prominently labeled so you can easily locate it.

How We Measure Snowfall

We use raw data generated by our snow tools, which Bridger Teton Avalanche Center (BTAC) operates. Read below for an insider's look at our season totals, daily reports, and the actual snow data collected.

Winter Layering Guide
Nothing ruins a day on the mountain faster than being cold and uncomfortable. While we typically only see the outer layers of one's ski kit, there are a variety of layers underneath specially designed for optimal performance and insulation. For the best day on the slopes, it's crucial to have a ski kit that keeps you both warm and comfortable.
