If you see a group of women laughing as hard as they’re skiing—whether taking off from the top of the tram or confidently linking turns on an intermediate run under the Casper lift—it’s likely they’re part of one of our women’s camps. There’s something about skiing and riding with other women under the eye of some of MSS’s best coaches (also women) that manifests in weirdly wonderful fun. It also results in many campers having major breakthroughs. We won’t say skiing with women is better than skiing in a co-ed group, but will share that our women’s camps are among our first to book up every season. Lady Shred Ski & Snowboard Camp
March 4-7, 2025
Intermediate - Expert Skiers & Snowboarders, age 18+

Lady Shred is a four-day camp during which Mountain Sports School’s top female coaches teach you how to tackle all kinds of conditions and terrain. You’ll be divided into small groups (no more than five campers) based on your skills and goals and whether you’re on skis or a snowboard; groups are either all skiers or all snowboarders. Campers come together to socialize, though, which makes this camp popular with groups of friends who want to enjoy a winter vacation together and are a mix of skiers and snowboarders. For intermediate through expert skiers and snowboarders. Participants must be 18 years of age or older.

Advanced - Expert Skiers & Snowboarders without Backcountry Experience, age 18+

So you want to explore the backcountry, but aren’t sure where to start? Start with our Beyond the Boundaries camp. Over two days, our top female alpine guides will introduce you to backcountry gear (and how to use it), terminology, and the basics of safely traveling in avalanche terrain. By the end of camp, you will be more comfortable using backcountry gear—don’t worry, climbing skins take everyone a while to figure out—exploring the backcountry, and contributing to your group’s conversations about safety and terrain selection while you’re out there. This camp is not meant to be a replacement for an Avalanche Level 1 course, which is something we recommend all skiers getting into backcountry skiing take.

This four-day camp comes with a warning: “Elevate is addictive,” says a seven-time camper. Intermediate, advanced, and expert skiers come to this four-day camp to get better. More than half return year-after-year because they do, and also to reconnect with fellow campers and MSS’s best women coaches. With small groups, video analysis, personal coaching, aprés ski events, and a celebratory dinner the final night, Elevate isn’t just a ski camp, but your way to connect with a community of interesting, adventurous women. Guided Backcountry Tours
JHMR’s 2,500 acres of inbounds terrain are amazing. And there’s even more amazing terrain that surrounds us. Stretching south from the resort, the Bridger-Teton National Forest is an expanse of wildland about the size of the state of Connecticut. Trained in avalanche safety and with years of exploring JHMR’s and the BTNF’s backcountry under their skis and boards, JHMR Backcountry Guides create custom side- and back-country experiences in this vast wilderness that will redefine what an “epic” ski day is.

A private lesson with MSS isn’t just about creating your perfect lesson, but your perfect day. Whether you want to find runs that the whole family can enjoy together, ski a steep couloir, link turns, get more comfortable skiing trees, ski every green or blue run at the resort, or spend the entire day smiling, booking a private lesson with an MSS coach is the single best step you can take toward making your vision of your perfect day on our mountain a reality.
