Dec. 2 - Dec. 8 - Dr. Huckinstuff's weekly recap:
December has kicked off in a classic fashion with wild Wyoming weather to satisfy every passion. I just floated in from my morning pow glide and what a difference a week makes. The vibe on the mountain is one of infectious optimism as conditions have continued to improved day by day. Last weekend's storm cycle delivered over two feet of fresh to the upper mountain, priming the adrenal glands of powder freaks valley wide and enabling the addition of the Sweetwater Gondola and Casper lift to our ride options by mid-week. Warm temperatures, partly cloudy skies and inversion layers followed hot on the heels of the new snow, making for soft cord-carving and creating laser light shows above a soft sea of clouds. The warm up was a bit of a blessing in disguise as it consolidated the new snow into a high-quality candy coating across the previously jagged landscape. The warm weather and sunbeams were short lived however, as cooling temperatures and falling flakes returned for weeks end. This second round of pow allowed for the opening of the Bridger Gondola and Marmot lift this morning and set the stage for Thunder and Sublette chairs inauguration tomorrow. Winter sure feels like it's starting to settle in. Stoke is high and the base is rising, so get on your gear and stop just fantasizing.

Love Letter to Jackson Hole by Kainen Krueger
As the sun lights the day
So the moon lights the night In resolute union, we climb to the heights
We plan for tomorrow
And live for today
Like a flower we bloom, and then fade away
Or we watch as the sun
Beams soft through the peaks
And moves on the slopes
Down a fresh woven sheet
A blanket so soft
And so cold
And so neat
Covers the mountain and the tracks left by feet
It fills us with pride
And is the joy of so many
To carve into this canvas
A harvest of plenty
A sublime interaction
With the processes of nature
These things happened, and happen, and will happen later
We trade not time for money
Rather money for time
Our days are bookended with laughter and wine
We give our whole heart
To a cyclical passion
So suffer our pockets, empty and ashen
So we dive in the forest
And we swim through the trees
Float on the branches
And sink in the leaves
You’ll hear a song in the story we tell
To play so near the sky
And love each day so well
It is easily guessed by our occupation
That art through experience is the sole motivation
And if a lifetime of work is all that we leave
Measure not what we earn, but what we achieve

Jackson Hole Conditions Report
Nov. 24 - Dec. 1 - Opening week at Jackson Hole. Despite Mother Nature's hesitance to provide ample natural snow, it's felt incredible to once again slide down the mountain. A massive shoutout to Jackson Hole Ski Patrol, Snowmaking, and all Mountain Operations teams for getting the mountain ready for the season ahead. Moran and Werner have been skiing well with more terrain openings on the way. Today, we opened Teton Lift and Crags Run, adding another favorite trail to our terrain offerings. With a winter storm warning in effect through the weekend, we anticipate more trails opening in the near future.
